SMT USB AVR Programmer

Here is the first iteration of the AVR µISP programmer. This is based on the usbtinyisp from adafruit, that was in turn based on Dick Streefland's USBTiny and the USB stack at www.obdev.at.  but smaller and with all SMT parts except for the 10 and 6 pin headers.

High Power LED Driver & Adapter boards are here

The LED Driver board and adapter board are both back from the board shop.  I have not had a chance to try them out yet.  I don't expect too many issues with the adapter board -- other than the thermal issues, it is a straight forward design.  The driver board is more complicated and was designed to handle several different LED applications.

evolution of the ps3toothfairy

Many ask where the idea for the ps3toothfairy originated and how it came to be. The first unit was designed just for myself and was nothing more than a fully functioning prototype. I got some inquiries from various forums about getting one as well and so I redesigned the unit. The purpose of the redesign was to make it easier to assemble (remove all the wires) and make the device more reliable. I'll walk through the 3 iterations of the ps3toothfairy and its nameless predecessor. The silk on the prototype reads BTIR which obviously stood for bluetooth to ir.

IR Remote LED Backlighting

Here are some pictures and video of my custom LED backlight controller. The controller gives you easy IR control of LED fixtures like the Cyron Media Highlighter and IKEA Dioder. It replaces the OEM controller with a new controller that provides an IR interface and discrete control over the colors, effects, and power of the color bars.

Asher's been with us 3 weeks now.  I've determined it is certainly easier the 2nd time around.  Not too many pictures this week but perhaps I'll add more soon.

Asher Week 2

Here are some photos from Asher's second week.  My last post was brief, but so far all is well.  He seems to have a rather strong neck -- at present he can hold his head up for a few moments without support.

My new site is back up and running now. It will be just a little bit longer before I can transfer all of the old content to the new site. The publications are once again available.
